In 2022, Law 21,420 was approved, which modifies the Chilean Mining Code. In this process, the 2022 amendments were widely considered to have technical, legal and conceptual flaws that would limit their effectiveness and create confusion and obstacles to the concessions system. For this reason, Congress approved Bill 15,510-08 in December, which seeks to correct the flaws in the modifications to the Code.
