Rony Zimerman, who until late March was a partner of the firm Bofill Mir & \u00c1lvarez Jana is the Lembeye Abogados\u2019 new partner, having arrived to develop the firm\u2019s Natural Resources and Mining practice. After 12 years as a partner of BMAJ, Rony Zimerman joins Jorge Lembeye \u2013 also a former partner of Bofill Mir & \u00c1lvarez Jana \u2013 Daniel Praetorius \u2013 a former partner of Bofill Escobar Silva \u2013 and Nicol\u00e1s Espina, who also comes from Bofill Mir & \u00c1lvarez Jana.<\/p>\n

Zimerman has dual qualifications as an attorney in Canada and Chile, meaning that he has a highly international practice, representing major multinationals in their natural resources investments and Canadian mining companies in their operations in Chile. He obtained his BA from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and studied law at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He graduated in Canada and then did the same in Chile, after deciding to stay in the country. During his career he has dedicated himself to advising national and foreign investors in issues related to natural resources, mining, and energy, in addition to corporate affairs, mergers and acquisitions, and financing in diverse sectors such as health, real estate and retail.<\/p>\n

Rony Zimerman previously worked in the corporate and securities area of Lang Michener (McMillan) in Vancouver, Canada. He is an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA), where he presided over the Energy and Natural Resources Committee (International Section), the Prospectors and Developers Association of\u00a0 Canada and the International Bar Association\u2019s (IBA) the Energy, Environment, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure section. He has also been a guest professor at the Business Law LL.M program at the University of Chile and in courses on international contracting at the Catholic University Law School.<\/p>\n

Jorge Lembeye explains that he and Rony Zimerman are connected by a long-standing friendship and professional relationship: \u00abRony and I were partners at BMAJ, so being partners again is something that is personally and professionally satisfying to me.
